Summer Strategies for Freelancers……Making the Most of the Season and Your Business!!

June 5, 2023

< back to blog home

Summer is here (can you believe it?!), and if you’re a freelancer like me, you might be wondering how to navigate this season while still running your business! Stay tuned for summer strategies for freelancers.

In today’s episode of the Freelancer to CEO podcast, we’re diving into tips and strategies for preparing for the summer months and handling potential slowdowns in business!

But… before we get into the juicy topic, I want to share some personal favs I’m loving (Listen for a sneak peak of the person behind the microphone). Lately, I’ve developed a new obsession with growing a cut flower garden! 💐 It started with a book, that I basically devoured and had it in mind that I’m going to start a small cut flower garden. It brings me so much joy and I love the way that flowers make people feel. Let’s not forget to take time to enjoy the sunshine, family time and smell the roses this summer!

Now let’s dive into today’s topic: prepping for summer as a business owner. While it’s important to enjoy the summer, there are still things you can do to make the most of this time. Here are a few summer Biz to-do’s…

1️⃣ Clean up your back end:

Use this time to organize and streamline your business systems. Implement new systems if needed and ensure everything is running smoothly. Take a look at your onboarding process, client communication, and any unused programs or subscriptions that can be canceled or put on hold.

2️⃣ Reach out to previous clients:

If you’re feeling uncertain about finding new clients or experiencing a slow period, reach out to previous clients. Offer your services in a creative way, such as a limited-time project or a special incentive. You never know if they might need support or if they can refer you to someone else.

3️⃣ Evaluate and update your packages:

Take a closer look at the packages you offer. Are there any services you no longer enjoy or that aren’t in high demand? Consider removing or revamping them. This is also a good time to assess your pricing and make adjustments if necessary.

Remember, summer can be a slower season for many businesses. Embrace the opportunity to recharge, enjoy time with your loved ones, take care of yourself… And don’t forget to stop and smell the roses along the way!
