Wondering what services you can offer as a virtual assistant? You have come to the right place because today, I am breaking down 5 of the most in-demand virtual assistant services out there. 

As a virtual assistant, you are considered a self-employed independent contractor that helps business owners with administrative, creative or technical tasks. If you want to learn more about how to get started, make sure to check out this blog post! The type of services you offer are done remotely and more often than not, are completed during hours that work best for you. Perfect for a stay at home mom trying to bring in an income all while being present with her kids. 

Considering you are your own boss, you get to set how much you work and when. You also get to set your rates. Typically beginner VA’s start around $25/hour and go up from there. 

Today, I am sharing the top 5 services you can offer as a virtual assistant. 

General Administration 

When you are just starting your freelancing business, I typically recommend that you are start with general administration services AKA general VA services just so you can get your toes wet. General VA work is a little more basic and it allows you to get your hands on a little bit of everything. General administration work could include:

  • Calendar management
  • Data entry
  • Research
  • Email management
  • Customer Service

Some businesses are looking for you to carry out a laundry list of services that fall under this category; whereas other business owners might just need help with one or two things. 

Social Media Management 

Social media is pretty much a must-have for business owners. If you’re not taking advantage of social media, you are likely not growing as a business owner. This is where you step in. As a social media manager, you will be tasked with overseeing their Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or TikTok accounts. Some businesses will need all of the above while another business might just need help with their Instagram account. Some tasks you might offer include:

  • Creating social media graphics
  • Creating social media content calendar
  • Scheduling content
  • Writing captions
  • Creating REELS and/or TikToks
  • Hashtag research
  • Engagement

Pinterest Management 

You would think Pinterest falls under the realm of social media; however, it is actual a visual search engine so we are going to break it into its own category. As a Pinterst manager, you will be helping clients gain visibility and increase website traffic with the use of Pinterest. Some of the tasks you might be in charge of include:

  • Creating pin designs
  • Keyword research
  • Creating/optimizing an account
  • Uploading pins to Tailwind/Pinterest
  • Writing pin descriptions
  • Sharing analytics Reports

Copywriting

Copywriting encompasses a whole lot of writing tasks. It ranges from writing sales pages to creating weekly newsletters and everything in between. You can absolutely niche down or you can keep things broad and offer any of the tasks below:

  • Product descriptions
  • Email campaigns

Email Marketing 

Email marketing is in high demand considering many businesses know they need to email their list but it’s one of those things that can fall to the wayside. This can range from just writing emails to actually managing their strategy. It can also include any of the tasks listed below: 

  • Creating weekly newsletters
  • Creating workflows and automations within email platforms
  • Email copy sequences
  • Update tagging/importing lists
  • Email platform migration
